Formation Church
Denying Self.
Surrendering Fully.
Following Daily.
ABOUT
We are a Christian community who emphasizes "who we are becoming in Christ." We call ourselves Formation because we intentionally focus on spiritual formation, a process by which we are being formed in the image of Christ for the sake of others (R. Robert Mulholland) by being with, becoming like, and doing what Jesus did (Dallas Willard, John Mark Comer).
We encourage each other to "be" the church in our daily lives at work, school, and community. While Sunday gatherings are important, it is not our goal to only be regular attendees or just call ourselves a Christian who's been saved. Instead, we seek to be disciples of Jesus identified by who we are and how we live our lives. Our commitment is to teach each other and to model how to do everything Jesus said to do. But, we're sinners, no better than anyone else. We're far from perfect. We're a work-in-progress. In acknowledging this truth we hold a high value to not judge others and instead empathize with one another in our common humanity and pursuit of The Good Life.
We've been influenced first and foremost by Jesus himself. He is who we follow. There have also been godly teachers such as Dallas Willard, Richard Foster, John Ortberg, R. Robert Mulholland Jr., and John Mark Comer who have contributed greatly to our understanding and spiritual formation to be like Jesus. READ MORE >>>
